Head of Humanities
Ms. Nancy Edelman is passionate about the humanities and discovered early in her teaching career that Project-Based Learning was the best way to engage and immerse her students in her favorite subject. She has been an early adopter of PBL in Jewish education with a depth of experience in the field. For 19 years, she taught all levels of English, art appreciation, and A.P. Art History at Torah Academy of Bergen County, where she also served as the Director of Curriculum and Educational Technology. Most recently, Ms. Edelman completed her two-year training with the Jewish New Teacher Project and is in her fourth year of mentoring new teachers.
Ms. Edelman earned a B.A. in English, cum laude, from UCLA and an M.A. in the Teaching of English from Teachers College, Columbia University, where she also studied interdisciplinary curriculum design. Ms. Edelman was the recipient of the Teaneck Chamber of Commerce’s Educator of the Year award in 2015.
